Pest Control in Osceola, Iowa

The Amtrak California Zephyr still stops daily at Osceola's small downtown depot, one of only five stations left in Iowa, and the town itself sits right where I-35 traffic and West Lake recreation meet. That combination — a highway commercial strip on one side and a 320-acre lake on the other — gives Osceola a service mix unlike most of the towns we cover.

A short history of Osceola

Osceola was founded in 1851 as the seat of Clarke County and named for the Seminole leader Osceola, who had died in U.S. Army custody in 1838 — part of a 19th-century pattern of Iowa towns naming themselves after Indigenous figures from outside the region.

The town's modern identity is built around two things: Interstate 35 and the railroad. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe line through Osceola is also the route of Amtrak's California Zephyr, which still stops daily at the small downtown depot — Osceola is one of only five Amtrak stations in Iowa.

West Lake Park, just on the western edge of town, is a 320-acre municipal lake with cabins, a beach, and one of the most popular fishing spots in southern Iowa. Lakeside Casino Resort, opened in 2000, is the largest single employer in Clarke County.

Services we provide in Osceola

Common Osceola pest problems

West Lake and cabin properties: mosquito pressure runs heavy from May through October for anything near the water, and yard treatments are close to essential for anyone using the lake regularly.

I-35 corridor commercial accounts — gas stations, restaurants, retail near the interstate exits — need regular rodent and fly service, and we run several of these on standing schedules.

Downtown and older in-town homes see the same ant-and-mouse pattern common to most southern Iowa county-seat towns: ants in spring, mice moving in as it cools off in fall.

Wasp removal calls peak in late summer, especially around properties with detached outbuildings and sheds.
